  • Unpraktisch, gute Besserung

  • Depends on how much you pay for data. For my german mobile contract it is very nice to have content available offline. And the play in the background thing is very nice depending on the kind of video you wanna watch. I can see how those features aren't the new sliced bread but they have their use cases

  • Thank you for the resources, I'll try them once I get the chance to work on a project for awhile again. The reasons why you like it are great to hear, as many videos tend to focus on speed over other aspects. If speed was my only concern I could have stayed with an IDE which I knew how to use. For me vim is both exciting to learn as a skill and convenient because of it's server friendly interface.

  • I would love for them to become colorful again. Nowadays they often look uninteresting and "old". It's not fun to watch something deteriorate to the point of being unrecognisable.

  • I don't agree with you. Many individuals changing their behavior is what it takes for an economic shift in our society. By thinking that we don't have an impact we loose motivation to change our behavior. So if you say you are annoyed by big supermarkets filling our planet with waste that's fine, I agree. But this needs to lead to a change in behavior, first of yourself, then for those who notice you haven't died from eating mostly vegan products and buying from local farmers markets and then hopefully for most people in our society.

Companies produce as long as people consume their products. If commnsumers switch to sustainable products (quite different from products advertised as sustainable) companies will have to follow

  • I really don't like seeing these temperatures and I also don't like that governments have not educated the public effectively on what to do to limit climate change. It's a tragedy to see people making irrational and ineffective descisions out of fear.

  • Structurally it also falls through, it just can't happen

  • They are unlikely to actually stop any individual from becoming vegan or at least making an effort to become one. The attitude that it is to öate and we can't do anything about the catastrophe is precisely the feeling they are hoping for so we continue to consume their products. You can however at any time just stop.

  • Read it, didn't give information to dampen the initial outrage. Six months only for a dozen or so cases and not against doctors or journalist doesn't sound that convincing to me. A judge must grant permission also doesn't help imo as the act is still is a major privacy violation to all those who interact with the subject in any way.

  • Don't know if this is of any help but here is a good video. It's about a video game ai concept I've not heard of before: https://youtu.be/9gf2MT-IOsg

  • While I agree with most points I'd like to give a reason why a voting system can be a good idea. It is a way to filter interest or engagement, posts or comments that got a reaction are likely more interesting to other users as well. And another argument is that it gives perceived value to an account, meaning people will not spamm accounts and banning someone has a perceived consequence. I don't moderate any community so I don't know if that is effective but I feel like thats a reason for keeping a version of that around

  • Guess I'll never be more than a lurker then. Even though I feel more comfortable with posting or commenting here so it'll happen more than on reddit
