That's such a load of crap, too. I completely lost interest in GTA5 because they took forever to release it on pc, and once they did, they took forever to reduce the price.
Steve and GN put in some real work to keep companies accountable. I don't normally buy youtuber merch, but I bought from GN to support their work.
The smaller population overall isn't a bad thing, but it can really be felt in smaller or niche communities. Reddit's huge size is a plus in this regard, because chances you can find at least a semi-active community for just about any hobby or niche interest.

It used to be fun, going on adventures with your friends/guild, but Blizzard kept changing things over time to decrease player agency and to keep grinding. It became less about having fun and more about keeping people logging in.
