.NET MAUI
- This group is for us to support each other
We are (presumably) all MAUI developers in this group, and we are here to receive information, but also to support each other, which can include testing each other's apps, so no, I don't consider such a post to be spam (if I did I wouldn't have made it!), and yes, if you want to tell us about your MAUI app then feel free to go ahead and do so! We are each other's supporters club with getting our MAUI app done and dusted.
- Welcome to the .NET MAUI Community on programming.dev
Hello everyone. I am your mod, Donald, Founder of Smartman Apps. You can find me on Mastodon at @SmartmanApps@dotnet.social.
You can follow/post to this Community from Mastodon by following @dotnetmaui@programming.dev
A few rules...
- As usual these site-wide rules apply (bear in mind this is a SFW Community)...
- Dangerous content on the instance and federated instances including phishing, spamming, brigading, unmarked nsfw, nsfw content in sfw communities, doxing, etc. is not allowed and subject to be handled by the mods or admins
- Hate speech is not allowed on the instance or in instances federated with it. This includes remarks directed at sex, gender, ethnicity, orientation, disabilities, etcβ¦
- It is strongly recommended to cross-post to the dotnet Community here.
- Anything that is related to developing with MAUI is welcome. e.g. MAUI controls, bugs, platform-specific issues (such as MAUI on Android), upgrading from Xamarin, XAML, as well as dotnet and csharp (though consider posting there for that, or perhaps cross-post).
- When posting, bear in mind that these are also going out to people's Mastodon feeds. i.e. try not to be overly wordy.
- I reserve the right to modify these rules :-) (but also feel free to make appropriate suggestions for such modifications).
P.S. I used mod-dotnet-bot.net to make the icon for this Community, if anyone was wondering

- SOLVED: Missing "shared" folder in new MAUI library
I just created a couple of new MAUI libraries for the first time in a while, and when I've gone to link to them I've discovered neither has the shared folder there (I don't know if we still call them that in MAUI - that's what they were called in Xamarin). The 4 platform folders are there, but not the 5th one (screenshot from a different library, with all 5 folders there). I even deleted one and started again from scratch to be sure, and sure enough it was missing again. Does anyone know what is going on here? Is this a bug, or do I now link to dll's in a different folder? (I'm looking in bin\Release) This is using the current standard MAUI library template in VS.

- What is this in my MAUI csproj?
I had this line randomly appear in my csproj git changes...
<ProjectExtensions><VisualStudio><UserProperties XamarinHotReloadGenericExceptionInfoBarBaseMAUIAppHideInfoBar="True" /></VisualStudio></ProjectExtensions>
I didn't put it there myself, unless by accidentally clicking something. Maybe it got put there automatically (like when you update nuget and it automatically updates the csproj)?
I don't use XAML, nor hot reload, nor did I add any extensions, so I'm not sure why it appeared. I Googled for it and couldn't really find anything about it. I don't know if it's safe to just delete it or if it needs to be there now?
