Random Old Memes and ✨Stuff✨
- I love you blahaj but the lemmy UI isn't working for me (personally not technically) so I'm reopening this collection/magazine on kbin where my original account is. Sorry for all the confusion lolkbin.social Random Old Memes and ✨Stuff✨ - kbin.social
Got sick of bigots, and pedants, and trying to figure out if something is “meme enough” to count, and of feeling like I’m spamming other spaces, and very quickly of the lemmy UI too (still love you blahaj.zone!) so am opening my own space where I can make my own rules and post my collection in peace...
I'll mainly be posting to !my_mouldy_memes@kbin.social from now on though if that goes down for whatever reason (or if for some reason I change my damn mind again lol) I guess I have a backup!

- From his 1949 essay "Why Socialism?"
A photo of Albert Einstein, around it is his quote:
"Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands. The result is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights."
- Always projecting
A drawing of two Black people floating in the sea by a big brick wall that has a European Union flag on it. They ask: "WHY DO YOU ASSUME THAT WE COME HERE TO PLUNDER?" A white man in a suit standing on the wall replies: "BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WE DID WHEN WE CAME TO YOUR COUNTRY."

- Don't be an ablesplainer
White text on dark purple background: What is "ablesplaining?" Ablesplaining is a patronizing explanation of any aspect of disability from someone who does not have the lived experience of being disabled. An Ablesplainer's opinion is often shared without request and with a grossly inflated sense of entitlement. Don't be an ablesplainer.
