Succulents
- Next round of shopping therapy ;)
Look who just got delivered! Gonna need to get some planters soon, but to be honest the slitted ones this store ships them in are really great for water drainage...

- Got this little Sempervivum today!
After trying (and failing) to rescue an overwatered Echeveria plant from the supermarket, I sort of got addicted to succulents and went out and bought this one. I have no idea what Im doing but Im hoping starting with a healthy one will be a better introduction.
- Pachyveria Powder Puff
Gettin' too big and stretchy for its pot!
Hey everyone, I just got back from vacation and I'm super happy to see that the community didn't implode! Thank you all for being respectful while I was away and making my first mod experience a good one. I'll have to find a mod buddy before my next vacation 🤣.
- Operculicarya decaryi coming out of dormancy (and recovery from a root prune)
It took a while, but it's back and flourishing. 😍 I'll give it another year or so and then start working on ramification and creating a canopy. I traded a cactus nursery a bunch of seeds from my euphorbia obesa pair for it in Feb '21 and it's grown so much!

- Got this poor little guy for free. Looking for help to nurse it back to health.
I got this little Echeveria for free from a large supermarket giving them away. It is obviously in very poor condition but I wanted to try to nurse it back to health. Ive grown many things but succulents are not one of them. Looking for advice on how I might give this little guy the best chance possible.
First obvious problem is they overwatered the crap out of them. Currently letting it dry out next to my Aerogarden so it gets plenty of light.
- Lil’ homie hanging out!
Been trying to not scare these off to get some pictures for a while now! Was so happy with this one.
- Work has been hell recently and I'm feeling down, so the best medicine is more cowbe... err, I mean succulents
Should have probably put a part of that title down here, huh? ;)
Anyway, these were also purchased online, but that site shipsthem like that, with soil and in pots.
- Ordered some succulents online for the first time
The store I got them from ships them dried out and with no soil, ready for re-potting. Hope they recover quickly and grow big and strong!
- I found these while walking around the neighborhood
I don't know what they are but I think they are pretty nice.
- Wife put almost all our succulents and some other plants in one spot on our balcony and forced me to take a photo and share it with you guys with a locked and loaded spray mister
So, here they are - getting sprayed in this heat might not be too bad, but I was worried about the mist hitting the cacti and killing them by overwatering ;)
- Newest members of the family
A cute little Lophocereus Schlottii on the left, and a THICK Euphorbia Triangularis Cristata on the right (the little cactus behind is just photobombing, it's not attached).
- My little Turbinicarpus boi
Sadly he got a bit etiolated last winter, but this year he's going to get all the light and love so he can stay cute and pudgy :)
- flower explosions!
Saw these on a walk recently and I have been obsessed with them since. I think the succulents are related to the invasive “ice plant” highway succulent grass you find all over the California coastline. I’ve never seen such a full bush 😃
- my flowering lithops
I’m having to grow all my succulents in a cabinet this year because of lack of sunlight at my current apartment, and my lithops are pretty thrown off by the whole situation. I lost one (the sunken one) I’ve been afraid to unpot everybody to remove, but the rest seem to be doing alright. Two of the dorothea(?) didn’t split at all this year. At some point I plan to separate by species because some definitely seem to want water more than others.
- Thanksgiving cactus gone wild!
Ok it didn't exactly do anything crazy, but it was blooming like we had never seen before this last November! Absolutely gorgeous!
- Trying to learn how to take care of plants, advice welcome!
Hello! I posted a few days ago on !houseplants@mander.xyz and one of the comments mentioned there was this succulent-specific community so I figured I would post here as well! So for a bit of background I have a black thumb, I've tried caring for plants in the past and they always seem to die on me. I'm trying to change this! I bought a handful of succulents and am trying to figure out how to keep them alive. Any advice is welcome!
The succulents: dwarf jade, panda plant, echeveria elegans, split rock, and there's one more that I'm having trouble identifying so if anyone recognizes it please let me know! It's the spiky one.
- My special aoenium
I saved this plant from my office 6 months ago because it had nearly no leaves, and now she's green and growing in a unique way. If this is what healthy looks like, it's all good with me.
- Today's haul
I really need to stop buying every succulent I find cute. I am quickly running out of space, and in winter I might have to sleep outside so that all my plant buddies can stay indoors...
- Went to a succulent store nearby and couldn't help myself...
These beauties were there, just waiting for me to take them home, so I did :) Got a really nice planter (not pictured) too - today's a good day!
- Here are my start-overs from this year
When some of my succulents stretch over the winter, I need to repot them into lil' dinky pots so they can start fresh! Yes, I know I need to get a grow light 🙄
