And a great blogspot from Planet of the Dolls telling you all about her.
- In the mid 80s one of the most iconic school supplies hit the shelves -- the Trapper Keeper.
This isn't one of the ones that I owned.
I looooved my Trapper Keepers, even when a cracked plastic corner might shred my forearm.
At the beginning of every school year --"This is the year I finally keep my stuff organized! Yes!"
Yeah, I have ADHD and, uh, not so much, but man it felt good getting it all set up.
- In the early 80s I could go to the school office and grab a pee chee folder for 50 cents and a Ticonderoga #2 pencil for a quarter.
obligatory - not my pee chee
It was a fun thing to do to draw on the folder accentuating what was already drawn there, as in the pic.

I preferred to keep mine undecorated.
Here's a link showing the "useful information" inside.
They came in other colors but "goldenrod" was the gold standard. Ba dum tiss.
- Also from the mid 70s, I remember shopping for school supplies and the carboard pencil box was a mainstay.
Also not the one from my childhood.
- I had this lunch pail as a kid. It's the only lunch pail I remember, so you know it's my favorite.
The side panels had comics on them too. See link for more pics.
This one isn't mine from my childhood.
- Here's a blast-from-the-past theme song/ear worm for you.

An ear worm definition: a song that gets stuck in your head.

The 60s Never Left - an exceptional home from EstoniaThe 60s-70s styled interiors keep us wondering - why those brilliant decades had to come to an end? ...
Lots of vintge decor.
It looks unlived in, though, is my only negative.
- Early 1980s had a trend of roses in a water globes
I've been seeing an ugly version at Home Depot lately. Tacky then, tacky now, but definitely brought back memories.
- Feathered hair
I consider this vintage because it's a technique.
You could walk into a salon and ask for feathered hair and the stylist would know what to do. You can't today, unless the stylist is older or has a penchant for retro styles.
I remember in the 90s I couldn't remember the new word for the style I liked and said, "feathered". The two stylists in the shop had no idea how to do that. "Layered". That was the word. Feathering was out and layering was in.
- Watching old TV shows on YouTube for free
Free, full episodes of Benson.
If you look, you can find other shows free, with full episodes, not just clips, and often in order.
- Did everyone in the 80s own one of these?
I had one of these in the bathroom and would listen to the radio while I curled my hair.
- 80's clock. No backlight, no snooze button.
Perfect except for one flaw--when the power goes out before you wake, you will wake late.
I just picked this up off ebay for nostalgia.
I don't like light at night and snooze is my downfall.
