He's an ex-worker at Jimmy's firm. If everything he said is false, it's an easy defamation lawsuit for Jimmy versus him. He dug his own grave. I think he wasn't dumb to do that. The points he made made sense to me, except the legal stuff. I'm not an attorney. Anyway, we haven't heard Jimmy's side.
Why do people call him Jimmy so often? We don’t know him. He signs MB on his merch so it seems unnecessary.
True that if the guy making accusations does not have proof, it will be a pretty shit position to be in. I have seen other creators giving him the benefit of the doubt based on their experiences collaborating Mr. Beast though, so it’s kind of early to tell. And the illegal lottery accusations seem pretty straight forward to prove based on archived videos circulating.
If he did conduct illegal lotteries, what a 💩 way to treat your viewers, many of whom were kids, seemingly. He said something like "The 10th buyer in the next 5 min will win 30000." right? Did those winners get their prizes? If no, it was a scam.
The 💤 deprivation was inhuman. The running thing was cruel.
The part that bothers me is they keep saying "the kids" and "aimed at kids" and the parts they are discussing as illegal lotteries are about making online purchases of tshirts and junk online.
Morally wrong, yes. Ethically wrong, yes. But clearly it isn't kids getting swindled into buying these tshirts using debit/credit cards online. If they are, we are showing a lot of bad parenting (you have to be over 18 to apply for a credit card on your own, and you can't set up a debit account either last I knew without an adult cosigner.)
What he is doing is no different than what loot boxes do, or tv stations like QVC. The U.S. hasn't banned those yet, so I imagine this "reprehensible" act will fall under standard business.
Throw in micro transactions that are legal, and this looks like a targeted attack on an individual and not the business practices themselves which a lawyer would like call a clear case of defamation.
