  • I think there's a huge difference between breaking into someone's home, or car/garage/shed/etc. If you are breaking into my car, or shed, you obviously are just looking to take things. I'll definitely yell, shine a flashlight on you, whatever. If you are unstable enough to break into someone's home, while they are there, asleep, your intentions are not clearly about taking my things. At that moment, you lose the right to be yelled at or scared off.

    • yeah but it's one thing to say "if someone breaks into my house at night, i don't know their intentions i will do anything to get them out or stop them, including violence if needed" and another to spend your time licking your chops imagining gunning people down and being praised for it. most of the redditors in the link are doing the latter, a bunch of suburban travis bickles
