This has prompted me to check the Australian supplier of Hirbawi and order 3. I'd been checking every few weeks.
Quite a few years ago (before there was clear distributor in Australia) I ordered one from an international supplier of good reputation. It never arrived. I assumed it was the difficulties of international mail or some bastard in customs binning it. Though had a Palestinian scammed me, no drama they need that money more than me.
You might find that there's a Friends of Palestine branch (or similar) in your city. Often they have outlets selling kufiyah if you don't want to risk it on international shipping again.
Thank you kindly for the advice. I think https://kufiyas.org.au/ imports them and then sends them out, so I should be okay. This was quite a few years ago when I had that problem.
Cool, looks like they are the Australian distributor for Hirbawi so that's a good sign. (Edit: you already mentioned this in your comment above. Whoops!)
Hopefully you'll get your kufiyah soon. Have you picked out what colour you want?
Word to the wise: red on white represents the particular Palestinian liberation organisation that is on the Australian government's no-no list.
There isn't a precedent for it as of yet but the government is cracking down hard so if you intend on doing things in the grey area (or beyond that), I'd advise against doing so while wearing the red on white because if they really wanted to they could probably use their dragnet anti-terrorism legislation to throw the book at you (especially if you have posted anything under accounts tied to your legal name that could be considered evidence.)
After all there is no precedent until they turn someone into the precedent, so it's best to avoid unnecessary headaches imo.
