Not my analogy, but observing people living under capitalism and then concluding that humans are naturally selfish is like looking at workers in a factory where pollution is poisoning their lungs and then concluding that humans naturally cough a lot.

The conclusion comes from empirical data that all former attempts at pure socialism/communism has failed due to human greed and corruption. If I am wrong, then show me so I can learn.

Capitalism, liberalism and democracy are pillars of a society based on freedoms and rights. Liberalism is a literal antonym for totalitarianism. Any regime that removes one or more pillars is authoritarian/totalitarian.
