Lots of reviewers shitting on it saying "I don't hate it because it's political, I hate it because it's a bad game!"
Meanwhile all their top-voted comments are pushing DEI conspiracy theory and Great Replacement bullshit
FWIW I have no desire to play the game myself, but anyone who has a comments section full of that shit and doesn't think long and hard about what kind of audience they've cultivated is a Nazi in all but name
It's cognate with SJW, woke and so may other signifiers used by the far-right to mark the same Nazi dog whistle that there exists a dangerous Other trying to weaken and pervert the white cis-heteronormative patriarchal world order and take its rightful throne. If you find yourself in community with people who espouse that bullshit and are comfortable there you are absolutely a Nazi. You may be too dumb to know it yet, but I would fully expect you to goosestep right along when push comes to shove.
That's pretty far past the point of not being a fan of DEI though..
I'm danish and we have DEI too but plenty of regular people that aren't racists or nazis at all doesn't like it.
It's not that they're against the idea of being inclusive, it's the way it's implemented that they don't like..
I hate this "dog whistle" term. It's a cop out to just ignore people you don't agree with and never engage in actual discussions..
Just look at my comment for example. I literally asked "Does not liking DEI equal being a nazi now? " and that was deleted. I can only imagine it was deleted for being a "dog whistle", because to me it's a fair question to ask..
It's safe to assume at this point that anyone complaining about DEI is using it as a dogwhistle. It's like saying ”Does being against the globalists automatically mean I'm a Nazi?”.
Funny that you bring up being Danish, the main reason Denmark has been in the news in recent years is for being racist as hell, so maybe that's not how most of you have been operating.
No that's not safe to assume dude. You're living in a bubble and you're helping nobody by acting like this.
The average Danish person is not racist at all. 99% of people here don't give a shit about your skin color, only how you act.
Denmark has been viewed as racist by other countries left wing media because our politicians are willing to say if people of a certain religion makes up 95% of criminal activities of immigrants. That has nothing to do with being racist.
To me DEI just seems completely unnecessary. We already have rules about how you can behave around colleagues. I just think it's a massive waste of time.

”I'm not racist at all, but here's some opinions.”

What? Behave around colleagues? What has that have to do with DEI? I'm starting to think you don't even know what DEI means or even how chuds use it.
I don't know what a chud is so you were right about something.
DEI from wiki:
[1] Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are organizational frameworks which seek to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination on the basis of identity or disability.
Every normal person agrees with that. The problem is how that is actually implemented.
I've just come from a monthly info meeting our CEO gives. We are about to choose new people for the board of directors and he ended his meeting by saying that even though we decide who to vote for he'd urge us to think about diversity because our board of directors is not very diverse.
I'm 100% against that. I think the best person for the job/position should be chosen. Not someone who can tick of the right attribute box that has nothing to do with the work..
So yeah, you have no idea how chuds use DEI in this context. Saying you're ”against DEI” means you're against non-white, non-cismale characters appearing in video games. It has nothing to do with job positions or anything like that, it's just about the treats.
It's thinly veiled bigotry, and ”DEI” is just the latest chud buzzword to hide behind. Previously it was ”woke”, ”SJW”, ”PC”, etc.
Duh. Hating initiatives to level the playing field for oppressed and marginalized groups clearly means you’re in favor of keeping them oppressed and marginalized. It means you’re a bigot
Maybe they don't like they way it's implemented or maybe they believe it won't actually level the playing field at all..
Obviously there are people out there who are racist but do you think an initiative like DEI will change anything about that? All it does is annoy regular people with "education" to not be racist.. Yeah we know, that's how most of us have been operating..
Stop assuming the worst of every one you don't agree with. You'll get nowhere like that. Unfortunately pretty much everyone in the US seems to be doing that.
If you associate with Nazis, people will associate you with Nazis. If the people complaining about DEI don't want to be associated with Nazis, they should be a bit more hesitant to share spaces with Great Replacement conspiracy theorists and transphobes.
