I don't wanna defed, but I'm confused when other instances say we're doing something entirely annoying or obnoxious. The only thing I notice is that we're a lot more active.
Do they not like seeing swear words or what? I've seen lot of claims we go off topic as well. I don't really understand it. I think there might be some kind of generational gaps, because many of the other users are perhaps more middle aged, as in aged 55 and older. One user said we're like a bunch of obnoxious kids having a rave party inside a library. Another said we're like maladjusted 5 year olds on meth.
I find my hexbearians to be generally chill and well-adjusted, so what gives?
It is like having an extended family bbq and having your racist uncle be like: "You are so mean for calling me out on my racism and transphobia! Typically people don't get loud at me and say 'No!' to me, so you must be a bad person!"

It's reddit brain. Having a substantive conversation is hard -- you might have to read some things, or be a little charitable to what the other person is trying to say, or navigate someone getting a little upset over an important topic. It's much easier to call the mods and complain, and if you're sufficiently motivated you can spin almost anything as off topic, insufficiently civil, something other than what the other person was actually trying to say, etc. Then you dig in on that shit because it feels good to be "right" and piss the other person off, but you're not trolling.

I've seen a few instances where IMO the hexbear user was genuinely being a bit obnoxious to other lemmy users, but those were outliers, like maybe 1% of posts, so the bad faith lemmy users fixate on these few posts probably to make their point.
