  • lmao, thats my post i made ages ago mocking how bad the political compass test is

but also i disagree with being called a tankie since this was my political compass result:
[edit, images arent working for me so like ill just write down my scores, i got -10.0 on the x axis and -7.8 on the y axis]

edit: i made that post like 6 weeks ago and my instance has never federated with your instance so were you literally just stalking through my old posts going months back on my account for some reason? because if you were thats really fucking weird ngl, i've never interacted with you once (i cant even see your account at all on my main), so idk why you're stalking my posts

    • I have no specific interest in you. I grabbed the meme from a thread full of tankies that were butt-mad about being misidentified as anarchists. A few weeks later I'm here on 196, and remembered to follow the rule. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      🤔

      • the bit about not being an ML because the polcomp test thinks im an ancom (because im radically pro queer rights) was the joke

i made the thread like weeks and weeks ago as a dumb bit to dunk on the polcomp test, no ones commented in it since, so how did you find it unless you were scouring peoples accounts for ages for posts? because like, we decided to defed your instance before federation even started for us due to concerns over poor moderation, so you must have literally gone to our instance directly to look through the posts

ig if you're not stalking me specifically and instead just an entire website you dont like thats like, less creepy on a personal level (forgive me for being cautious about it; ive had two chasers from this instance looking through my post history and following me from post to post before until i actually discussed it with the instance admins in dms and one got a ban and the other a warning) but also really fucking weird, like what do you get out of scrawling through months of posts by queer communists you dont like to find posts you don't like so that you can post them here?

        • You tankies sure are paranoid.

        • Wait wdym "we decided to defed before federation started"? Does "we" mean like a subcommunity on hexbear disagreeing with federation?

          • so basically before federation began there was a poll on hexbear regarding whether we should federate with a blacklist or a whitelist approach to federation or just stay entirely defederated as a walled garden, then there was a thread discussing what instances to federate with (once itd been decided that we'd federate using a whitelist), then a few days later there was a thread discussing any instances that there was contention about in the first thread and a poll on the most controversial ones. The admins also host regular internal discussions for hexbear users over moderation decisions and its encouraged for anyone who has trouble with how we currently federate or ban policy to bring it up to the mods and community in the c/hexbear comm.

Anyway, during the first few rounds of federation discussions we decided against adding any kbin instances to the white list because of how poor the functionality of kbin is for moderation (apparently only one moderator per comm can be appointed and reports work really weirdly, idk i wasn't really that invested at the time over the technical aspects of the kbin software so im probably misrembering certain aspects) causing a lot of bigots to get by for ages before being banned on their instance (iirc blahaj also temporarily defedded one of the larger kbin instances at one point for the same reason)

maybe at some point we'll federate with kbin maybe we wont, but rn the community is tending towards no.

Does “we” mean like a subcommunity on hexbear disagreeing with federation?

to answer this, yes there were a ton of different groups that arose in the lead up to and immediate aftermath of federation where there was some internal drama about it (including some that wanted to straight up defederate everyone), but like describing all the internal struggle sessions about federation we had as a community is beyond me rn (i was on the pro federation side for the record), like even explaining the struggle session we had months before federation over rock stacking would be more fun (i still dont have the energy rn though).
