Dragging Civilization Backwards One Emoji At A Time

From a thread asking opinions about emoji usage.

However it happens and whomever is responsible here we are... and we're losing ground fast. And things like emojis are leading the charge.

Should we tell them @WhyEssEff@hexbear.net is responsible?

I mean, shorthand and jargon are literally everywhere in the working world and i don't think anyone'd call that a sign of civilizational decay. Your average court stenanographer would be boned if they had to write in full sentences.
