Currently I have a Redmi Note 10 5G (codename camellia/n)
This is a very low end smartphone. And a very important problem has to do with it.
MIUI is not great. I just don't like the optimizations they do by just killing any process I have in the background ruining the experience of use. And it falls behind others when it comes to personalization which is very important to me.
I want to install crdroid which is one of the few roms which are available for my device (at least officially). But I have many problems.
First, I need to do all of this without root and without any custom recovery as my phone doesn't support any. I am going to install the ROM through Xiaomitool V2 because it makes the process a lot more intuitive and easy at least for me. (I have absolute 0 knowledge on adb).
Then there's Gapps, I need to flash them as I rely on them a lot and I also need it so I can restore the google one backup once I install the ROM. But without a custom recovery I have no idea how to do it.
Last, please give detailed instructions. I have no idea how adb (which I suppose is the only way to do what I'm trying) commands work, what each of them does etc
"Camellia/n" are the. POCO M3 PRO and my phone.
That is the citrus. I think it even has a different processor, unfortunately pixel experience is not available officially. I could go with unofficial but I'm scared I won't get security updates and stuff
Don't really stress yourself out about the unofficial tag. The chances of you experiencing problems here are no more or less than with any other source. It's updated frequently too. I left the original instructions link because it's identical to what Camillia has
Thaank you. Hey, I noticed in the instruction that it talks about installing the Pixel Experience custom recovery. Where can I find this for my phone? And how does it work? Is it like TWRP / OrangeFox but specifically for PE?
EDIT: I noticed, I guess that it must be the boot.img on the github right?
Yeah that’s what that is. You can still use twrp if you really want to, but it’s mostly unnecessary. Plus if you ever intend to install magisk, you’ll just have to patch this tiny image and flash it again
There's a different procedure for different vendors, but usually you would just give magisk manager your boot image, and then flash that over your recovery
Hey sorry to bother you again. I was doing the process now, and just to make sure. The Pixel Experience recovery I need to install, are you sure it's the boot.img? I was seeing some tutorials before and I see that boot.img and recovery.img are different files. What should I do? The ROM you provided doesn't have a recovery.img
EDIT: I don't know, I find a lot of inconsistencies between the build on github and the tutorial. It doesn't tell me anything about the boot.img, my device has a/b partitios so I don't know what I have to flash. I think i'll just try with xiaomitool v2
But then the boot.img is recovery? I just flash it and then sideload the .zip file? Just understand I don't want to lose my phone and it's the first time I do this i'm a bit nervous.
