Except Al Jazeera isn't silenced in other western democracies. The only places I've found that it's been banned in are Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain, and Jordan.
Not sure about the rest but I know for a fact that it's not banned in Jordan. It was previously suspended temporarily but never banned, i checked to insure im not talking out my ass and the only thing i could find was BFUJ mentioning it being banned in jordan but i couldnt find any actual sources for that claim, its rather odd honestly. (I live there and aljazeera can be freely accessed)
It was a month ago so I don't remember specifically what I used as a source at the time, but this source says:
Jordan and Saudi Arabia have recently closed Al-Jazeera’s local offices, while the channel and its affiliate sites have been blocked in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain.
It's an article from 2017, so maybe there's been changes to that in recent years. However, OP is the one making the claim that western democracies are blocking Al Jazeera so you should probably ask him for further support of that.
I see, thanks for actually giving a source, seems like the local office was shutdown but no full ban. Alot of people on here just say random stuff as fact (like OP claiming western democracies block it without any evidence) so i hope you understand
