The Capitol cops beat the hell out of innocent J6 protesters, and the videos are finally coming out. [...] The cops should be charged and the protesters should be freed."
Funny how when it was BLM vs the cops, they were cheering for the cops to murder more black people because they were uppity for challenging the status quo.
That's how it's supposed to be, and why this is such a challenge for the political Right. For them, the cops are allies, and it was incomprehensible that they would put up any opposition at all.
By and large this has always been the case, the the police are guardians of order and the primacy of capital, and that's the side the Right is almost always on, so it's understandable how precedent would have led them to believe that it'd always be the case.
And they were shocked and hurt to find out that it wasn't.
For the record, they feel the same way about the military.
Yes, and I often point to their hysterical outrage at the shooting of Ashli Babbitt as a prime example of this. Someone breaking and entering the Capitol, with a mob of people that had murderous intent, ends up getting shot and they are apoplectic about this, and still are.
The idea that right wing white people might not be allowed to get away with just about anything absolutely infuriates them to no end. Meanwhile, if a black guy happens to get murdered by a cop for selling loose cigarettes or whatever....well, he had it coming. Or had drugs in his system, or whatever the fuck, who cares, why are we even talking about this?
i had jan 6 scheduled off work, and i was hoping for street combat. leftists didnt show up to fight so i had to settle on watching the wrong side breach the capitol.
i still was rooting for the protesters to win that day. not because i thought it would make any difference in the outcome of the election (orange man was always going to step down, imho). i just wanted to shake the fucking empire.
but go on about how justified it is for our government to murder citizens without due process.
Yes, actually, shooting someone attacking the seat of government is fully justified. What a strange take, while you wear the mantle of the second amendment and fantasize about shooting intruders.
You know where the phrase 'wimp' comes from? A character in the Popeye cartoons named Wellington Wimpy. Besides being a sponge who wanted someone else to pick up the check, he was know for his line, "let's you and him fight."
You want to 'shake the empire' but haven't got what it takes to wade in yourself.
I get that the military is a heavily conservative organization, but I feel like they'd be surprised that the military wouldn't just let them walk into bases and take orders from them
Their news didn't report on the Joint Chiefs letter either, which said in no uncertain terms that Trump lost the election and would be leaving the White House.
It turns out that the military isn't actually as right-wing as everyone thought because, unlike the police, when push comes to shove, they will defend the country. You can't count on the police to do the same. You hear lots of moaning and complaining about politics but military members WILL follow their leadership and their leadership will support the country.
