ITT non punks arguing over what counts as punk. Punk is having generally leftist politcs, looking really cool, listening to sick bands like Electro Hippies, Zyanose, Instinct of Survival or Framtid and having drug problems.
Punk is rebelling against authoritarianism, like state-enforced meals for school children, so-called "human rights" for minorities (censorship), top-down literacy imposed on innocents and it's about eating fast food.
I'm either making dreampop or nearly impenetrable noisey Nurse With Wound kinda early style found sound industrial nowadays and that's what I've been listening to that isn't familiar ground lately. I'm at a pretty low level of giving a fuck about punk/opinion of it rn. No one plays locally and every band gets by on internet clout/networking and just plays 5 festivals a year and they're all boring AF. Flower from New York rules but everything is just Japan noisepunk tone whatever core. Old man yells at clouds but it's all mostly clput chasing nonsense now.
Yeah I don't really pay attention to newer punk stuff much. I just went on a binge and downloaded stuff from my high school days again and that's been keeping me happy.
