The redditor "Tienanmen Square massacre" narrative is flat earther levels of crank shit and needs to be recognized as such.

This shit has seriously gone on too long. People who continue to cling to the "10,000 dead crushed by tanks hosed i to the gutter" bs are cranks. It's jews control the banks, chemtrails, the earth is flat, the moon isn't real level of crank shit and unless you're feeling very indulgent and someone is asking in good faith it can be dismissed as equally serious to that kind of crank shit.

  • Honestly, to my knowledge of the events, what actually happened with the crackdowns on "riots" was already really bad BUT was it worse than what the US does regularly? Including just recently sending in armed hogs to tear gas and stomp children? Of course not. And that's why the reddit Nazi types have to keep lying otherwise the narrative of "America good" (in contrast to all existing evidence) requires never admitting the truth or even looking at what happened or anything... just pathetic racism in the end. Same as people who think immigrants are "genociding" white people. Batshit insane stuff.

    • Most of the actual fighting was between PLA troops and insurgents several blocks away from the square. Insurgents attacked a PLA column of unarmed soldiers with molotovs, burning them alive in their APCs and trucks. The PLA didn't have any armed soldiers near the square. Like, when I say not armed - Most of the PLA guys were wearing their dress uniforms. no helmets, no shields, no batons. Just chilling in their dress uniforms, shooting the shit with the students. The PLA had to mobilize troops from further out to go in and fight the insurgents, and it turned in to a running street battle. Afaik all of the deaths were PLA soldiers, insurgents, and civillians caught in the crossfire in that battle.

When the fighting started the PLA ordered the students to leave the square... and they did. They all linked hands and walked out peacefully, and that was that.

The lack of violence, the lack of coercive repression, is almost farcical when you look at the behavior of modern western governments.
