I agree with you. Matrix and xmpp already work pretty well. There isn't really need for another messaging app. There are many other messaging apps as well.
i mean... yeah i guess but same could be said about the 10 lemmy clients we now have lmfao
The Lemmy clients are fine because they interoperate on the same protocol. People can switch between them with ease.
This looks to be a new protocol that people will be stuck on if they choose to use it.
