What is your favorite obscure old hot take to ever pop up on this site? For @Civility purposes, nothing from active users, please. Also "power dynamics" isn't obscure.
I'll give mine to get the ball rolling.
There was a user that, before getting banned, declared that every single living human being alive on Earth right now should not exist because no one had the benefit of a pre-conception device on hand to somehow determine each individual's consent to exist before they started to exist.
I don't know if that take would make David Benatar blush, make David Benatar cackle with glee, or if that was posted by David Benatar himself.
For sure the dude who kept making accounts with names based on Hanna Barbera cartoons who was really fucking pissed off at women enjoying pumpkin spice things. I think about them every fall now and it's right around the corner. Such a silly thing to get irrationally angry at, especially on hexbear, like you think we're going to tolerate you shitting on women because they won't fuck you?
I wasn't around for that particular series of (pumpkin spice flavored) hot takes and I can't help wonder what sort of condemnations the Flintstonian had about that particular beverage.
Sounds a bit like the "women be wasting money on shoes while supreme gentlemen like me open our wallets for Steam sales for games we never get around to playing, praise Gaben" or "horoscopes are for superstitious morons, but fortunately I am INTJ which means I'm too smart for that" takes I've seen on
Scrolling through u/twitter they seemed like any other poster, until one little thing sticks in their craw and suddenly they're posting mysogynist and hobophobic slurs and fucking death threats??
@Eco@hexbear.net would be your best bet for being able to track down his other accounts, she said she was modding a couple comms for the couple of months he kept doing it.
lol, i watched that one happen in real time since it started in the megathread, a user had been posting for a bit about how she liked PSL and how some of the jokes about PSL sounded kinda misogynistic, then twitter said only white woman care about it then the user just posted an article in food comm about the link of PSL and misogyny and twitter had a meltdown because he saw the post as a personal attack on him
