Yeah, it's one of those tech that just feels way too disposable in design despite what their cost would imply, which scares me off from them.
I used The Swap Club to replace my wife's AirPods about six months ago but since then they always seem sold out.
My wife and I each swapped pairs of the original AirPods. It turned out to be a very positive experience all around.

I've checked a few times since using them and they are always out. They used to have a listing for Pro as well but that is gone.
