Aside from my group of friends from high school who were heavily invested in Aion, this is the only other instance I've heard the game mentioned. How long did you play? I think I gave it a go many years after launch when it went F2P and I could be an angel with a fucking mech suit. That was rad. But I fell off quickly.

Been playing it on and off for the last 15 years. My return in 2023/24 was when aion classic came out and I binged the shit out of it. Seen the game evolve from its release incarnation to its current state which is basically dead back to the classic EU servers which were really popular when I was last on. It has quite the cult following.
Kinda wanna play some now

I think I only played it for a couple months buy I have fond memories of chain CCing people in the air until they plummeted to their deaths.
