2 2 ReplyIt wouldn't even remotely resemble the first game if it's wasn't 2D. If you want 3D Risk of Rain then there's Risk of Rain 2.

What were you expecting? This is for those that found RoR2 3D to be underwhelming (in that, for me it's really overwhelming to play). RoRR brought all the features I liked in concept and applied it to the format I loved: pixel art 2D.

I was kind of hoping for that as well. But I guess it would be less a remaster, more a remake in that sense.
I don't really think Risk of Rain Returns is a remake just looking at it. It's still 2D after all.
