I'm still not truly convinced it's not some kind of meme/ weird in-joke that I just don't get. Like, that just seems so obviously unsanitary and with no obvious appeal that I just cannot accept that it can be something that more than a extremely tiny fraction of people actually do
That is still another level than actual shit though. No one argues mouths are hygenic. But to compare it to your butthole, I mean, no. There is a reason stuff like handwashing or flushable toilets increased life expectancy quite a bit, people stopped getting sick from all the stuff that comes out of our shit.
Hand washing stops stuff getting in your mouth and eyes. There's also way more bacteria in your mouth. Both are bad. You're more likely to catch something from kissing.
Not all bacteria are bad and there are big differences between mouth flora and butthole flora. That handwashing stops getting stuff into your eyes and mouth is exactly what I say, so thanks for confirming that. By doing that you prevent anything (or most of it) that comes from your shit to get into your mouth. But you still got bacteria there, just not the shit-kind.
It's not something I do personally btw. But people massively blow how dangerous it is out of proportion. As long as you clean yourself it's really not very different to kissing.
In that second comment they talk about the normal stuff that comes with oral/vaginal and how it's not like what's in/around the butt. STIs are called out as an exception, they aren't what the comment is really about.
The jist is that you can get some temporary inconvenience with a new partner, but it's unlikely to be anything serious.
I dated a girl for a bit who really, really loved having her ass eaten and vice versa so... I don't think it is. I'm pretty sure my distaste for it was a factor in her calling things off.
It's possible they were inconsiderate. But I've had a partner that didn't warn me because she only ever squirted with penetration so it didn't occur to her she even needed to.
The one thing I noticed missing is the time it takes for bacteria to reach harmful levels. I am by no means a nurse, or have any knowledge on that subject. I would only imagine that removing 99% with soaps, cleaning, and being quick about eating ass reduces your chance of sickness by a lot.
