In confronting all three foreign policy dilemmas, Washington needs to incorporate an understanding and acknowledgment of the things the United States has done that contributed to them.

  • In varying degrees, the United States has been inattentive to or dismissive of the perspectives of Russia, China, and the Palestinians. A lack of strategic empathy has thus constrained Washington’s ability to recognize or at least acknowledge the extent to which Putin’s decision to wage war in Ukraine, Xi’s coercive behavior toward Taiwan, and Hamas’s decision to strike violently at Israel were motivated—at least in part—by what they perceived as U.S. disregard for their security concerns, or neglect of prior U.S. commitments to address those concerns.

“Literally everything that happens on the world stage is the fault of America.”

Israelis and Palestinians have been fighting each other since the Hebrews and the Philistines. David and Goliath 3,000 years ago. We’re trying, but this shit is complicated, and the current leader of Israel is a bloodthirsty madman.

Taiwan is the last outpost of the pre-communist Chinese government. They also make half of the world’s computer chips(IIRC). We play the face-saving game with China in recognition, but real interests of the entire western world require protection of Taiwan.

Russia invaded Ukraine and has been committing warcrimes the entire time. Really bad ones. How this one is up for debate again is beyond me.

    • "Israelis and Palestinians have been fighting each other since the Hebrews and the Philistines. David and Goliath 3,000 years ago."

Sorry but this is revisionist nonsense. Jews and Muslims coexisted in Palestine for centuries. It wasn't until the emergence of Zionism at the end of the 1800s and waves of European immigration into Palestine, British meddling via the Balfour declaration and Mandate and subsequent US financial and political support for Israel's ethnic cleansing, illegal settlements and brutal apartheid that this neverending catastrophe was created.

If you're interested in finding out more about this topic I recommend Rashid Khalidis book "the 100 year war on Palestine"

If you want to find out how European Zionists systematically drove out Palestinians from their homes and then re-wrote history to claim they never existed, I recommend Ilan Pappes book " The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine"

      Correct. Glad you understand that.

Well, to be more specific, it's imperialism, and the US has been the core of the imperial core since WW2. It was the UK before that.

Israelis and Palestinians have been fighting each other since the Hebrews and the Philistines. David and Goliath 3,000 years ago. We’re trying, but this shit is complicated

Typical nonsense fascist apologia for colonialism and imperialism. The last conflict in the region was 1400 fucking years ago. Can Chinese Americans and Indian Americans go to those countries and claim them? What an idiotic thing to say.

"Israel" is simply a western colony in Palestine. Its formation used common british colonization tactics [III], with companies literally named "Colonization Commission", "Jewish Colonial Trust" and the like.

Theodor Herzl, founder of the colonial ideology he called "zionism", was himself also just a racist colonizer by his own admission, and saw it as bringing ‘civilization’ to ‘barbarians’ as the rest of Europe did when they were colonizing and enslaving Africa and Asia:

“We should there form a portion of a rampart of Europe against Asia, an outpost of civilization as opposed to barbarism. We should as a neutral State remain in contact with all Europe, which would have to guarantee our existence.” Source [II]

That's exactly what's happening right now. Except the US has become the empire's core now rather than the UK.

the current leader of Israel is a bloodthirsty madman.

Just like the US! It's almost like liberal "democracies" aren't democratic in the first place and only serves as a tool for imperialism and inevitably leads to rise in fascism when in decay (currently happening in Europe, like Italy and Germany, again).

Taiwan is the last outpost of the pre-communist Chinese government.

Correct. The ROC fled the mainland after the PRC managed to finally overthrow them. They went to Taiwan, killed the local population in the White Terror, and currently serves as a military outpost for the US (hey it's the US again) imperialism.

Russia invaded Ukraine and has been committing warcrimes

As opposed to the genocide of ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine (which started the current war), including Donbas and Crimea after the US-backed (huh US again, wonder what this article is about) fascist coup in 2014 because they resisted the coup gov, because those aren't warcrimes ig?

These were the results of the 2010 elections.

Eastern Ukrainians don't support the current fascist gov, and even welcomed the Russian army as liberators in 2022.

      Edit: Also

      We’re trying

"We"? Are you a US government agent? Or are you under the false assumption that this capitalist government actually represents you? Does it? And do you approve of the genocide it's committing in Palestine right now if it does?
