This isn’t “backfiring”. This is Boebert losing a Twitter fight, which is funny, but backfiring is when your actions have actual negative consequences for you. Her base doesn’t care.
- Her base may not care, but she can't win an election with only the votes from her base. Moderates and independents do care and make the difference in who wins.
  
  She moved from a pink district to a dark red one. Her challenge right now is winning the primary and not getting labeled as a carpet bagger.
