I'm in my 40s and just got my first sport bike, been riding dirt bikes before I was 10 and street bikes by 14. I've always liked cruisers and choppers, never had a crotch rocket style.
After a month of having a cbr600f2, I'm convince there is a correlation with how kids slept as as babies and what bikes they like to ride (if at all)
Babies who slept on their backs better, like cruisers, babies who preferred to sleep on their bellies, like sport bikes!
I have very mixed feelings about the bike tbh. Its the fastest bike ive ever owned bar none. It handles great at high speed, as it should since it was made for it. However after an hour or two, im super sore having to hold my head up like that while laying on the tank. I'm more built to lean back and cruse but got this bike for a screaming deal that i couldnt refuse. But damn is it fun, never had a bike that wants to lift the front wheel going into 3rd gear at 100+kph before.
You shouldn't be laying on the tank unless you're tucked into the bubble for extreme speed. Sit up, rest your weight on your hands, feet, and ass. It's an aggressive seating position, but not really uncomfortable. The wind will do most of the work holding your torso up. I can't stand cruisers. Not only are they boring, but you're sitting straight up and down, with your feet forward, so your spine gets jarred with any bumps that the suspension doesn't totally absorb. You can't use the pegs to take weight off your ass without also hanging on the bars like they're a pull-up bar, and that's not really safe.
