Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones reacts to liquidating his personal assets, agreeing to demands from the families of Sandy Hook victims to whom he owes more than $1.5 billion in damages over his lies about the 2012 school massacre. CNN’s Oliver Darcy reports.
Ironically his “making the frogs gay” bit is more rooted in fact than many of his other stuff. In many other cases (such as Sandy Hook) he’s ranting freely, based on nothing.
The frogs thing is at least based on a study that concluded male frogs were affected by chemicals that can make them able to reproduce with other male frogs. So it’s loosely based on a creative interpretation of something real.
When he is reporting something he is not straight up lying about he just skims the headline and then makes up stuff about it.
You can sometimes see his brain work in real time, for example when he spots something in the body of the article that actually goes counter to his narrative he just yadda yaddas right past it and immediately moves on to something entirely different.
