I'm in my 30s so I should be used to this by now, but this shit is getting so stressful guys. I have no savings, my checking account is drained every month with rent, and if there's ever a serious emergency I have no safety net, I'm legitimately fucked. I'm one unplanned expense away from absolute ruin. Those in the same boat as me, how do you deal with this?
I work in retail. I've bounced around a few jobs the last few years, worked at a coffee shop, worked in a deli, worked at a grocery store. I've also had to move twice in the last three years which I'm still recovering from (both moves) financially. Out of all the gigs I've had, I truly loved making coffee for people, I'd have no problem doing that permanently if it paid the bills
If you've worked so much retail I guess the next logical step would be to shift to field sales. Companies across all industries are almost always in want of good salesmen and you stand a chance of earning good commissions if you put in decent effort, and eventually you can get into management and move up the corporate ladder. I don't know what's operating wherever you live, but to start with maybe you can hit up offices of telecom companies, banks or wholesale e-commerce firms. You don't need a lot of qualifications to enter field sales.
