Knowing "You Are Banned In This Community" Before Writing A Post/Reply
A suggestion for my favorite Lemmy client: I would love to know that I am banned in a community before finishing a huge post/reply and pressing "send", not after T_T
Likely from a community they were not previously aware existed. Shit we are banned from shouldn't be showing up in our All or even Local feeds ... unless you like people making alt accounts to go trolling or whatever?
No idea. Apparently when you try to post or comment in an area you are banned from, as OP encountered, but, contrarian/dismissive/contentious/just-plain-dickish as I can be, I've never even seen that.
Its not often I make time to peruse Local or All any more though. Basically, too many dick-pics and stuff of that quality there, versus my tastes. I am subscribed to enough communities that there is likely very little on Lemmy I am missing out on.
No it isn't, but I know there's not that many "dick pic" communities out there that you have to avoid all, even if you were to browser lemmynsfw.com itself.
Okay, apparently I need to be more clear/relatable/explicit: too many particularly ugly dick-pics and posts of equivalent quality/utility.
No-where near as bad as reddit, but like I said, not-at-all an improvement on my subscribed feed, which I am happy with. I don't mind dicks. Pics I can smell and smell nasty, and posts of such quality, of which there are an order of magnitude more than actual dick-pics that even bother me, are another matter.
I can and do often drive by the city dump to get to other places. More often, I browse all just in case. Rarely, I do actually browse lemmynsfw.com un-filtered. Happy?
You got lucky. I won't say anything that's going to get me banned, but I'll advise everyone to take a look at the mod log, especially around june 4th. That thing is nasty
