Goddammit. I loved this show. I wanted one more season.
I was hoping for one more season as well, I was excited to see more of Catherine without Peter. But Nicholas Hoult's departure would have been a tougher watch, so it makes sense.
Me too, but at the same time it would be hard to watch without Peter.

It wasn't exactly flattering to the Russian monarchy (and most monarchies) and the lead was of Prussian birth.
I thought I read somewhere that a lot of the streaming shows get cancelled after just 3 seasons because the residuals increase after that, or something about syndication?
Wouldn't it be nice if shows started telling completed stories within 3 seasons? I despise the American way of trying to make every show last as long as humanly possible just to milk as much $$$ as they can. Like, a full story can definitely be told over three seasons. Just start doing that!!
More series should be like Ted Lasso, essentially. Which is also an American production, but that's splitting hairs.
We loved season 1, but hated how far it departed from history. They should have kept it plausible. But also agree with someone else here, it became repetitive and slow.
Too bad, I guess. I liked this show but I also let my Hulu subscription lapse A few months ago with no real consequence to my overall happiness.
It was wrapped up pretty well. I honestly couldn’t see it continuing after the season 3 finale.
I stopped part way through season 3 as it was getting pretty repetitive, shame they couldn't make it work.
