What are your thoughts on fiber through the city?
  • Or under 600 per year for 10gb/s with Wingo. Or used to be as they seemed to have jacked up the price and dropped to 1gb/s making Init7's a better option. Thankfully I'm grandfathered into the old 49/month for 10gb/s for life.

  • TIL Press win + k to quickly connect to a bluetooth earphone in Windows 10
  • Win + I brings a way busier screen but it shows the Bluetooth devices with their connect button right there.

Works in Windows 10 as well but there it requires an extra click to select the device so that the "connect" button is shown.

  • About half of Bandcamp employees have been laid off
  • It's hard to justify as it's mostly subjective but objectively I think having music archived in a lossless format allows me to transcode to more practical lossy codecs as things evolve.

It's kind of like in the olden times owning the CD and you could re-rip anytime and whatever format you needed/wanted.

  • Deep Rock Galactic is going rogue with an all-new spinoff game coming next year
  • They've mentioned this as part of their roadmap. They aren't big enough to develop this spinoff and continue on DRG so they want to be transparent on how the work on this Rogue game will cause delays for the next season of DRG.

  • Disney Mocked for Ludicrously Fake CGI "Actors" in Crowd Scene
  • But this is so... janky. Usually, they put actors in the front, a couple of "layers" of extras, and then CGI where it's harder to notice.

This is so obvious it almost looks like those intentionally janky CGI shorts or music videos and intended to be humorous.

  • I loved Bancamp because you could download CD-quality FLAC. Yeah, I can stream my music there but I want to load it up to my personal media server and just have it in the best reasonable quality possible (I know there's better than CD quality).

  • YouTube Enhancement Megathread: Tools and Extensions for All Devices
  • Feel free to whitelist creators you like. My favorite (Red Letter Media) don't give a fuck thanks to Patreon.

It can also skip intros and other repetitive aspects and a hotkey allows you to unskip segments.

  • UK's nuclear fusion site ends experiments after 40 years
  • There was a BBC Connections episode that showed eager power distribution people watching a famous English show.

The thing was that it was so popular they knew to expect kettles going off simultaneously all over the country the minute the show ended creating a spike they had to manage.

Half in the Bag: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

We had a lot of dumb technical issues when filming this episode. One of our stupid mics stopped working 2 minutes into our discussion but we didn't discover that until after talking about the stupid Indiana Jones movie for 45 minutes so then we had to start the stupid discussion all over again. And for some reason on the second time we shot it, Rich Evans' microphone made him sound extra echo-y because Rich Evans is a sound anomaly. But you can still understand everything we say as we painstakingly go through this boring movie. So just relax and have fun, everybody. Relax and have fun!!! And Happy Birthday, Grimace!

Half in the Bag: Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3

The summer movie season is a go! It's time for action! Time for adventure! Time for incorrect aspect ratio projections of a movie that takes up only two thirds of your giant movie theater screen of which you came to see said movie on. It's time to head back to the moopies and check out the final Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 3!
