Am I the only person who does not want this feature? I fear it will wear the display out faster and I like the peace of mind that it’s not accepting inputs when the screen is off.

You have a higher chance of a burn-in with static UI elements like the status bar than by using the always-on display feature.

I feel the exact same way, within 5 minutes of getting the phone setup I turned it off

Eh, the info does slightly move so it's not on the same pixels all the time. Plus, you're not going to use your phone long enough for it to matter.
