A gay doctor who is one of Louisiana’s only specialist paediatric cardiologists has left the state after the introduction of a Don’t Say Gay copycat bill and a ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth.
Jake Kleinmahon, who was one of just three doctors specialising in heart transplants for children in Louisiana, chose to leave the state with his family, as they no longer felt safe.
Kleinmahon met and fell in love with his husband Tom in New Orleans, and the couple expected remain in Louisiana, even after retirement. However, he told CNN that the state’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation made him and his family feel unwelcome and that he ultimately “didn’t have a choice”.
21% of male convicted pedophiles in the US are exclusively homosexuals, while male pedophiles constitute around 5% of the US population (plus minus a few percent depending on the source). One can make conclusions from these numbers.
They aren't "exclusively homosexuals" because they're pedophiles. And that's a much smaller percentage than so-called heterosexual pedophiles, so why aren't you worried about heterosexual doctors?
@Finnish_nationalisti The only conclusion you can make from that is that the vast majority of child molestation is done by heterosexual men (which has been backed up in the research time and time again). Also churches and other religious institutions play a disproportionate role in child abuse. Want to keep your kids safe? Keep them away from church.
Im an atheist so idgaf about churches, but it is quite funny that you apply probability statistics to churches, but then pretend to not understand them when it comes to the general populace.
Sorry, i mistook you for the other commentor. Although my point still stands. The majority of pedophiles are heterosexuals yes, because 95% of the populace (in US) is heterosexual. But 21% of pedophiles are homosexual, while only around 5% of the populace is homosexual, meaning homosexuals are statistically way more likely to be pedophiles.
With quick maths when there are 750 000 registered child predators, of which 21% are homosexual, that means there are 157 000 homosexual child predators. That means 0,009 pedophiles per homosexual. The same number for heterosexuals is 0,0019 pedophiles per heterosexual. This means a homosexual is almost five times (4,7) more likely to be a pedophile compared to a heterosexual.
That is quite a significant difference, and certainly warrants discussion wouldn't you say? Why is brining up these numbers forbidden?
More Republicans turn out to be pedophiles or abetting them than LGBT people. Just ask the Republican House about their former speaker Dennis Hastert. And while you're at it, you should ask them why they still follow Hastert's Rule and haven't renamed it.
Oh, and don't forget churches! More priests are pedophiles than gay people, and they get protected by their religious institutions.
Maybe conservatives should figure out why they keep running into these disgusting people in politics and in religion, and how these people get promoted to positions of power. It wasn't Democrats who made a pedophile the Speaker of the House after all. Could it be that part of what Republicans are trying to "conserve" is...?
They were pretty clear. They want to fuck children so naturally a gay person would as well, except that would be wrong and disgusting, unlike their perfectly natural Christian pedofelia.
