It's silly. Dance is an artform, not a sport. That's my belief as a fan of the arts but not of dance in particular. From the article, it seems like that's the opinion of most dancers. The IOC is really damaging its own reputation by including it, and to learn that they didn't even properly consult the practitioners before doing so just adds insult to injury.

Much like the Logan Paul vs Coffeezilla defamation lawsuit, it's hard to damage a reputation that is terrible to begin with. It does not surprise me at all that the IOC went about this so poorly.
Personally I just don't really like events being subjectively judged, which is what I have against it. But I couldn't say why one is ok but not another.
