Ik vond dit wel een goeie breakdown; iemand nog tegenargumenten of bepaalde missende details?
Wat ik me kan voorstellen is dat als je "enkel" een huis erft dat je dan opgezadeld wordt met belasting die je niet kunt betalen tot je het huis hebt verkocht; en als dat dan een slecht onderhouden geval is levert dat wellicht veel gedoe.
Verder kan ik me niet zo veel problemen indenken met verhoging van de erfbelasting. Jaarlijks gradueel verhogen lijkt me netjes, zodat mensen niet op 1 januari net vergeleken met de buurman op 31 december fors "buiten de boot vissen", om teveel gezeur van jan/alleman te voorkomen.
Wat ik me kan voorstellen is dat als je "enkel" een huis erft dat je dan opgezadeld wordt met belasting die je niet kunt betalen tot je het huis hebt verkocht;
Daar zijn al regels voor. De termijn voor het doen van aangifte voor erfbelasting is ten eerste erg ruim (8 maanden). Daarbovenop kun je nog uitstel krijgen (4 maanden standaard, of zelfs meer dan een jaar als je een woning erft).
Dat geeft problemen bij het erven van een huis ("je ouders zijn dood! Gefeliciteerd, je mag binnen een jaar 40k ophoesten of je ouderlijk huis verpatsen!")
Gelukkig heb je net een heel huis gekregen, dus je kan zonder issues een hypotheek nemen voor de belasting. Dat is wat lastiger met een horloge van een ton, maar als dat de enige erfenis is, is dat wel echt een edge case.

Is daar niet iets te regelen dat je de belasting pas hoeft te betalen op het moment dat de verkoop is gelukt?
Dat het wat gedoe is, tsja, daar is sowieso een hoop van bij overlijden. Als je daar echt geen zin in hebt kun je de erfenis ook weigeren, natuurlijk, maar ik denk dat dan al snel blijkt dat het ook weer niet zoveel moeite is, gezien wat je ermee kunt verdienen.
