Update: if you're seeing this text, then we've completed the migration :) π
TL;DR: We are downgrading the server.
Currently, the instance has a monthly cost of approximately $200, and we can barely cover this expense with donations. But more importantly, we think that the current server specs are too much for the needs.
We are the 3rd instance with the most users and one of the most stable instances with 99.55% uptime, but still more than half of the server components are not used.
Therefore, we will slowly downgrade the server to use donations more optimally. By the way, thank you to everyone who supporting us π
Not sure if this is the place to say so, but I just tried to post a 3.7MB image, but I received an error that it was too big. What is the maximum size image allowed? Or did something wrong happen?
Hmmm... The one I'm trying to upload is only 2304x1728, jpeg format. I was able to upload a similar sized image just fine a few days ago. I thought maybe the limits might have changed with the migration.
Hey just joined and already have a question but first, thanks for what you do!
Anywho, so a 12 core, 32gb ram server is $125 a month? Do servers have to be rented like this, subscribed to?
Just makes me wonder why, say just using a PC with the same specs wouldn't be preferable? Issues with internet speed, bandwidth, storage, reliability or something else? I know servers are quite expensive to buy brand new but am curious as to why used servers and setting one up at home aren't viable for stuff like this?
Hey sorry for the late response. I was not able to deal lemmynsfw for a while. I checked the server now and database is 41GB while media storage is around 1.2TB.
