  • Intel is still not publicly providing the batch numbers or serial number ranges of Raptor Lake chips that suffered from oxidization during manufacturing — it claims it fixed that issue long ago — and it does not have an update on a tool to let you easily test your chip to see if it’s aged prematurely. Intel is also still not providing an estimate of how many chips are likely to be irreversibly impacted, or how lenient it will be with warranty support.\

The company claims its laptop chips, and all future desktop chips, are not affected by this issue.

    • The biggest thing for me is not that companies make mistakes, but what they do afterword. The fact intel is still trying to brush the oxidation issues under the rug, rather than making their customers whole, is quite telling.

      • They have virtually nothing to gain and much to lose by not doing so, as far as I can tell.
EDIT: I for one will never purchase another Intel product. If I feel this way, it’s likely that a not insignificant amount of other people also feel the same.
