A gray cat living an extraordinary life of visits to the beach and trips to the lake went on his biggest adventure alone: traveling hundreds of miles from Wyoming to California.

At press time, the cat had come back inside, scratched the door to go out and was already on its 900-mile journey out of California.
I'd love to know if domestic cats are capable of this sort of way finding, or if it was coincidence.
- He was still 200 miles from home when he was found (although he was headed in the right general direction).
  
  If he kept heading west til he hit the coast, then followed the coast south, he was bound to get to Salinas eventually.
