I used to be a command line interface (CLI) user and still prefer it, but the graphical user interface (GUI) app has been good—it's stable and fast with WireGuard.
It will reconnect if the connection drops, and the kill switch is functioning. If you're using the v3 CLI, you should check out the new GUI.
I use it and can confirm it's pretty good. I only wish it had support for port forwarding because their current solution of running a looping script is clunky and tends to error out after a while.
Using it on the newest Linux Mint version at the moment. On app start it always wants to create a new keyring called „default“ to store login information. But it will not recognize an existing keying it created earlier so it’ll do that on every app start and you’ll have to enter your login information every time. Seems like a bug and I’m waiting for an update. Same behaviour on the Pass app for Linux.
Apart from that the apps are working flawlessly.
That's the only way I use it. I auto-start the panel applet, and it connects automatically for me. My only complaint is that if I let it choose "the best" server to connect to, it picks a server in another state more often than not, and I rather it only pick servers in my state. As a work-around, I force a specific server in my state. The downside is that it probably makes me more trackable to sites since I connect to them from the same IP every time, but I'm sure it doesn't really matter since they finger print my browser. I'm more concerned with encrypted communication than anonymity anyway. It's not like the bank or YouTube doesn't know it's me when I sign in.
If anyone knows how to make it select among servers within a specific state automatically on auto-start, pls let me know.
