A Disco Elysium successor studio has been announced for the second time today, meaning there are now 4 companies battling for the title of ZA/UM's true inheritor
The only one I care about is the one with the core writers.
Will be interesting to see what the others end up making in terms of gameplay but the core writers are the reason that DE is on par with actual literature where every other game in existence is a toy by comparison.
Pathologic (and Pathologic 2) also have real writing! They're easily on par with Disco Elysium in terms of writing quality! (I don't disagree with the general point, I'm just out here shilling for Pathologic 2. Because it's great and Pathologic 3 is coming out next year with any luck and I'm so excited!)
Kurvitz and Rostov have their own company, Red Info ltd. that is funded by Netease and is apparently working on something, but we probably won't get more news until the legal trouble with Disco Elysium itself is resolved
At this point i'd be happy with just a Revachol TTRPG campaign sourcebook as long as it has the same writing quality as the game. Doesn't even have to have stat blocks or anything, i'll just run it with Thirsty Sword Lesbians.
I actually thought the same thing. Would absolutely love a source book detailing a TTRPG. Feels like something Summer Eternal should consider for funding.
I just learned that Robert Kurvitz apparently signed a 7 year non compete clause as a writer. I didn't even know that was legal with a duration like this. But both Summer Eternal and xXx Nightshift sound very promising, even though i expect both of them to not take place in the world of Elysium.
