California Sues Giant Oil Companies, Citing Decades of Deception
Launching one of the most prominent climate lawsuits in the nation, the state claims Exxon, Shell, BP and others misled the public and seeks creation of a special fund to pay for recovery.
Here's hoping these companies have to pony up billions not millions
Fuck that.
They've betrayed humanity and are a threat to all life on this planet.
At the least they need to be turned into public utilities (owned by the State).
They should, in my opinion, also be held criminally accountable. Every person involved.

Oil company executives deserve lifetime in jail.
Good luck squeezing a rounding error from any of these companies.
I am pessimistic about how this goes. They will either win or get away with minor consequences. And in the end we will all die.
