If your country spends a great deal of it's time, energy and resources into normalizing, accepting and allowing complete nut jobs, entertainers, charlatans and sociopaths to dominate the national discourse and give them all a platform to be able to speak to everyone in the nation and also give them multi million dollar marketing and advertising for years .... eventually you'll indoctrinate the entire (or most) of the country with nonsense.

This is a problem that the US created and wanted for itself.
