Erdogan: Turkey can part ways with European Union
President Tayyip Erdogan hinted that Turkey could abandon its bid for EU membership and said the European Union was trying to break away from his country.

Please part ways with NATO as well
Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits are too strategic for US, Turkey will always have huge baraining chip with them so it would be very impratical for them to leave NATO and lose that leverage.
It would be, if we could trust Turkey to actually honor it's alliance commitment, but it is equally likely at this time they'd just say 'nope, we're not participating in this war' and bugger off.
We don't need them to do anything. We just need their land as a forward base.
