What do you think got way too much hate than it should've?
Funko Pops, to me.
I understand that some of them are fairly overpriced, but I also really like them as is. It doesn't work on all characters, but it sometimes work on a lot and there's so much representation and variety that it's good to have a few.
If people want to talk about waste of plastic and vinyl, they should bark at the companies who make teeny tiny figurines that serve no purpose and have so little detail that spending any money on them is a waste.
Ty! It was so good. I was so disappointed when it got just shit on by the fan base. I was never huge into anime, but I did watch the original, and thought the live action was really good and faithful where it counted.
The problem is, the original had a 26 episode run that was a mix between random fun and "plot" episodes, and the plot episodes were fewer and more serious.
The Netflix version decided that it had to be more plot than fun, and it's considered a failure by old school fans because the plot that was left over with the fun removed, well, it's kind of been done before. Look at the flashback episode (#9) to see what I mean; it added absolutely nothing to the story that we didn't already surmise from hints over the previous 8 episodes, and the dark, dramatic seriousness of the whole thing wasn't ever really balanced by SciFi shoot-em-up fun episodes in between.
But that's just me. I didn't hate it, I was just disappointed that it was too serious.
