Google reportedly breaks away from Qualcomm, opts for MediaTek modems in Pixel 10
Google's Pixel 10 lineup will ditch Qualcomm for MediaTek's T900 5G modem. This shift away from Qualcomm's Snapdragon highlights Google's reliance on in-house technology like the Tensor G5.
Both Google and Apple seem to be tired of Qualcomm’s shit.
WTF to they mean "break away", Google isn't using Qualcomm modems in any Tensor. They're using Samsung's modem, the one that ships in various Exynos-based devices. And 4 generations of Pixel have been using Tensor.
Hopefully the mediatek modem ends up being as reliable as the equivalent Snapdragon would have been. I'm generally leery of unproven tech
They can easily handle gigabit 5g speeds if my friends' speed tests using chinese phones with the mediatek systems says anything
