People think it is a must have, but at some point I postponed getting office until I really needed, and use libreoffice meanwhile. It's been years, and I still only have libreoffice installed.
Me too, haven't needed office for years. 99% of the time the end product needs to be a PDF anyway, which LibreOffice does an amazing job producing.
Then atleast private people will just move to Google Docs, congrats MS you played yourself.
I need visio. Is there an open source or paid alternative that works on Linux?
I was a windows user until last year. Work has me migrated to Mac and at home I just can't be arsed with Microsoft anymore. I won't ever install Win11 and with Proton I probably won't have to.
Office 365, which I refuse to use for my personal computer.
I still use some Office apps from 2006 (Visio, Project) because they serve my personal needs.
Work? That's my employer's problem.
Isn't using out-of-date apps a security vulnerability? Visio 2006 hasn't received a security update since around 2012
