  • I've tried and tried to use OSMand+, Magic Earth, and Organic Maps but I swear Maps is the one thing I just can't replace. Between Google's reviews, accuracy, traffic data, and coverage, I have not found anything that compares.

    • Yeah I use OSMand+ for my basic trip planning, but most of the time I switch to Google Maps for the traffic data and for re-checking information on, for example shops or restaurants.

  • Technically if you’re using Apple Maps you’re mostly using OpenStreetMap (UK) and TomTom (Dutch) so you’re not committing the gravest kind of crimes against European motherland.

    • I see... Still they get my data somehow, and they don't go to European companies too, am I right?

      • Apple pays TomTom for their map data. Using Apple Maps on Apple devices is a natural choice for those who are looking for a polished alternative that doesn’t sacrifice too much compared to Google Maps.
