Trump cuts target world-leading greenhouse gas observatory in Hawaii

They're talking about closing the main support office for the Mauna Loa Observatory — which is "recognised as the birthplace of global carbon dioxide monitoring and maintains the world's longest record of measurements of atmospheric CO2."

- That has its place too I guess, but personally I'd point in the opposite direction and say there's also room for more general-interest news sources aimed at the kind of people who already know at least enough about Mauna Loa to be aware that it's famous for producing the most widely used measurements of atmospheric CO2.

Fortunately there are other observatories not controlled by that wrecker that will continue the work.
